The V-Flex is an exceptionally lightweight fin that delivers consistent performance and response in the water. Strap fin designed to wear without a diveboot is an ideal snorkeling fin for all levels of expertise. Flexible center channel accelerates water over the blade for improved efficiency. Oceanic goes barefoot with their new V-Flex barefoot strap fins which are great for snorkeling. The Oceanic V-Flex Fins feature a pre-bent design for a more natural kick above and below the water. Sturdy side rails channel the water to the center well of the fin blade for consistent control while kicking. The foot pocket on the Oceanic V-Flex fins are soft on bare feet as is the easy-to-adjust strap which features a quick release for easy doffing. Because the fins are a strap style, they accommodate a wider range of foot size.

I was searching for a lightweight, inexpensive fin that I could travel with. I also looked at the Cressi Palau open-heel fin. I have not had the chance to use it yet, but I feel the Oceanic is a superior fin and definitely worth the extra 10-15 dollars. The construction is quite sturdy with a more robust strap and buckle system. It also features a quick-release buckle. The blade is stronger and stiffer than the Cressi that should allow for greater power and enable easier free-diving. I wear a size 10 and the M/XL fin fits very well. Unfortunately, this fin is NOT designed for use with dive booties. At the very most, a thin neoprene sock could be worn, but nothing with a sole.

These are made of the hard plastic and not flexible rubber. The first dive I used them on the straps kept slipping off of my heel. When I got back on the boat, I tightened them, but the next dive, one of them slipped off again! Then later in the dive, the other side slipped off. I'm sure these would be good for shallow snorkling in calm water, but they are definitely not scuba dive capable. They are also very short and force you to paddle more often with more forceful kicks than fins that are longer and rubberized.

My husband and I love to travel and snorkel...we do not like to rent the equipment. So, we went in search of great snorkeling fins that would be easy to travel with. I purchased the Oceanic, and my husband purchased the Cressi Palau. We are both happy with our purchase. The oceanic has superior straps, but the Cressi has a much softer foot pocket and better draining. The Oceanic is much more stiff compared to the Cressi Palau...not that this is a bad thing. I felt that it gave me more power to keep up with my husband.

These fins fit very well in a suitcase for international travel and are very lightweight. The Oceanic fins seemed to float well which was nice when putting them on...rather than instantly sinking.

The sizing chart is a bit off. I wear a size 10 women's tennis shoe, so I ordered the M/XL (because I didn't want my foot hanging off the back of the smaller version) and had to return it for the SM/MED. The SM/MED fits well...but I wouldn't... Read more
